ACEV aims to provide high quality education to various target groups, and accordingly has laid the foundations of ACEV Academy, which constitutes an important step to this end and is geared to ACEV’s extensive group of trainers and professional staff. Consisting of a series of training modules, it aims to support both personal and professional development, and increase the quality of education services provided by ACEV. ACEV Academy is an organizational development project created with the aim of being able to monitor changing information and trends, and support ACEV employees in gaining “field expertise” instead of expertise that is “program-specific.” Moreover, it aims to follow changes/advancements in information and trends, and offer a structured, holistic professional development program. Implementations consist of the three modules below: Group B Modules—Trainer Formation: The aim of this module is for participants to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to become trainers/group leaders and observers. Group C Modules—ACEV Programs: The aim of this module is for participants to acquire knowledge and implementation skills concerning the ACEV programs they are working on, and gain experience in the process of becoming observers and master trainers. Presented by noteworthy academicians and experts, the first training session took place on December 8, 2007, with Prof. Dr. Sevda Bekman’s presentation on “Early Intervention” followed by Prof. Dr. Ayhan Koç’s presentation on “Cognitive Development and Language Development” and Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Kağıtçıbaşı’s presentation entitled “Development of Self: Family and Culture” on January 5, 2008.
