Southeastern Anatolia Education Project Reading Days Project Family Letters Project

What is ‘The Family Letters’ Project?
‘The Family Letters’ project aims to support parents from the time they decide to have children until the time their children reach 3 years old. The project is comprised of 30 letters designed to support parents throughout this period. These letters were prepared by the Mother Child Education Foundation’s (Anne Çocuk Eğitim Vakfı – AÇEV) team of health professionals, child education experts and developmentalists. The letters cover topics such as pregnancy, birth, child development and education, feeding and health and aim to support especially the mother through this phase of her life. There are 30 letters in all: 6 of these letters cover the period of pregnancy, 12 letters cover topics related to the first year of the baby’s life (one letter per month of the baby’s 1st year) and the last 12 letters contain information on topics and issues related to the period between the 13th and 36th months of the child’s life (one letter for every two months in this 24 month period).
‘The Family Letters’ is currently being implemented in collaboration with the Turkish Banking Association (Türkiye Bankalar Birliği) As a part of this collaboration, these letters are being offered free of charge to 800 mothers. Educational seminars are also being offered, in addition to theses letters, in order to help answer specific concerns and help orient these 800 mothers to the contents of the letters..
