AÇEV has been a member of the World Forum Alliance since 2008. World Forum Alliance aims to contribute to access to and quality of early childhood services through promoting global information exchange. The Alliance serves this goal through collaborating with global experts on early childhood.
With its global members, ISSA conducts work on early childhood. The association aims for young children to access good quality services in education and care. As of 2012, AÇEV’s collaboration with ISSA has been formalized as a full membership. As a member of the ISSA Council, AÇEV contributes to actively ongoing work on the 4 activity areas based on “Growth and Deepening” within the 2013-2015 strategic plan (1- Access and equality; 2- Quality; 3- Participation, and 4- Advocacy).
In 1997, AÇEV became UNESCO’s Early Childhood Cooperation Center- Central Asia Representative. In 2010, we received UNESCO’s Operational Partnership Status and in 2011 became a member of the UNESCO/NGO Collective Consultation on Equal Education for All. In 2012, AÇEV received UNESCO’s Consultative Status to act as consultant for early childhood and adult education, sharing its know-how and expertise for possible improvements in activities conducted in these fields.
In 2008 AÇEV received ECOSOC Special Consultative Status. With the Special Consultative Status, AÇEV acquires the right to provide recommendations to general assemblies, members, and relevant specialized institutions of the United Nations; directly attend UN conferences and preliminary meetings; attend meetings of councils and commissions; be informed and comment on the agenda; issue written statements and conduct oral presentations.
Since 2009, AÇEV contributes to the Millennium Development Goals through updated annual reports on its pledge in the field of education. AÇEV’s pledge has been: “to contribute to the MDG 2 on primary education, MDG 3 on gender equality, MDG 4 on child health, and MDG 8 on global partnerships for development through raising awareness on early childhood development and education in 1 million families; raising $20 million to reach 400,000 children, parents, and illiterate women, and plan to educate 2,500 new trainers by 2014.”
AÇEV has been a member of the Consultative Group on Early Childhood Education since 2004. Based on the importance of early childhood, CGECCD implements programs and conducts research on health, nutrition, education, social sciences, economy, and child protection as related to this stage of life.
In 2012, AÇEV starts an academic collaboration with the Yale Child Study Center and the MacMillan Center for International and Regional Studies. “AÇEV-Yale Formative Childhoods and Peacebuilding Global Initiative” conducts research on the relationship between early childhood development and peace building, as well as advocacy to raise awareness on this issue in global platforms.

With an initiative for global social impact, the master’s students at the Wharton Business School conducted 14 different projects across 10 countries in Africa, the Far East, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and South America in 2011. One team out of these student groups conducted a study to calculate AÇEV’s added social value from its establishment to year 2011.
MBA students participating in Harvard Business School’s FIELD program work on a course project under the mentorship of their professors, where they develop new products/services for institutions from a variety of sectors. In 2012 with a group of MBA students in this program, we worked towards developing new products that supported AÇEV’s mission. Within the framework of this collaboration, in 2013 we conducted preliminary analyses for promoting AÇEV’s Father Support Program on technological platforms.
AÇEV is a founding member of the Harvard University Center on the Developing Child (CDC), since its establishment in 2006. CDC conducts research and advocacy in early childhood education and development.
